What Docskalski said, the Proximal Phalanges look very similar, dare I say it, penis's, pretty much (From the top down). They are almost like a parenthesis from the side.

The proximal phalanges should be one bone, which is why they are inaccurate. The way they are illustrated here, they appear as if the proximal epiphysis is an ossicle. It would be acceptable to have a separate center of ossification for the epiphysis if the person were skeletally immature, but then they would have a physeal plates between them and the metaphysis, etc. There should also be joint spaces between the bones. I wont even begin with the carpals.

These diagrams are probably acceptable for a general artist to understand how to draw a hand with skin on it, but they should not be passed off as medical illustrations, as they are grossly inaccurate.

Well I think this is an art site, not a medical site, so I'm sure the creator won't kill anyone and people will find this useful. You just sound like you're sprouting big words to try and make yourself appear intelligent. I have studied medical anatomy myself and I can tell you artists' anatomy does not have to be so complex.

Hell, I doubt many artists know what carpals even are.

There is no reason to study incorrect anatomy. You may as well forget the subject entirely and just go by photo reference, although doing so puts you at a great disadvantage.

It is true that absolute accuracy isn't necessary for art purposes, but I feel if you're charging for content (follow the link they posted) it should at least be close to accurate, which it is not in this case.

I wasn't using "big words" to try to "appear intelligent," I'm a doctor and diagnostic imaging resident, and that is just how we talk about anatomy. If someone is pawning off their illustrations as "anatomy" diagrams, they should be familiar with those terms and what they refer to, as should you if you've "studied medical anatomy." Those terms/anatomic regions are quite fundamental to understanding basic skeletal anatomy.

Your carpal anatomy and proximal phalangeal anatomy is inaccurate.
